Tim Smith

Chief Executive Officer, Owner

Tim is one of the co-owners and co-founders of MD Billing Services. He helped start the company soon after he graduated from Asbury College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications. He has billed for family practice, pain management, and has experience with medical practice operations as an employee of MD Consulting (mdconsultingky.com). Tim served as MD Biling's CFO for over 5 years and became CEO in January of 2016. Tim's wife, Amanda is an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics physician at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group - Primary Care. They are the proud parents of a son and a daughter.

Pat Smith

Chief Financial Officer, Owner

Pat is the founder and owner of MD Billing and its affiliate, MD Consulting (mdconsultingky.com). Pat has been working in the medical field since 1968. Her first job was at a privately owned hospital where she worked in every department of that facility. She did anesthesia billing for over 14 years before starting her own business, MD Consulting, so she could work from home and be with her children. She has maintained long-term relationships with her clients; some for over 30 years. She has set up over 35 practices in different specialties and has never had a practice that did not flourish. Pat is very knowledgeable in all facets of medical practices and continually receives education in both practice management and billing. Throughout her career she has negotiated contracts and dealt with the onset of managed care, all the while keeping her skill set sharp in all aspects of medical billing and reimbursement. She stills works everyday and is often seen billing and working on coding issues for her clients. She has had a part in training every biller that works for MD Billing. She welcomes your phone call and would love to talk with you about your new or existing practice. She offers free consultation and gladly answers any questions you might have in reference to running a very successful medical practice.

Amy Crump, RMM

Consultant, Owner

Amy is a co-owner of MD Billing Services and a partner of MD Consulting (mdconsultingky.com). Amy has worked in the medical field for almost 15 years and has experience with both primary care and specialty practices. Amy holds a BA in Accounting from Asbury College. Amy and her husband have 4 children.

Steve Smith, RMM

Consultant

Steve offers financial consulting to MD Billing. He also has billing experience with obstetrics. He met Pat while they were attending Southeastern Christian College. They were married and then he graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor Business Administration. He is essential to the operations of MDBS as well as to his wife Pat.

Bud Clevenger II, RMC, RMM

Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

After graduating from Eastern Kentucky University, with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Bud worked insurance claims in KY, WV and PA. After 13 years in the insurance industry, Bud joined the MD Billing in 2010. He is involved in the day to day operations of the billing and consulting services as well as overseeing human resources for the business. Bud and his wife, Joy have two young sons.

Marianne Skaggs, RMC

Billing Manager

Marianne joined the MDBS team in 2011. She has had over 10 years of billing experience in many areas such as hospital, long-term care and physician billing.

Stephenie Osten

Internal Auditor

Stephenie began her career with MD Billing as our Internal Auditor in March 2015. She has been in the medical billing field since 1991. Stephenie started with claims processing with EDS, which at that time processed claims for Kentucky Medicaid. She also processed refunds for Ky Medicaid Providers before moving to a position with Provider Services Department, which took all incoming calls from Kentucky Medicaid Providers. After working there for 7 years Stephenie began a new job in Frankfort, KY at a billing company in 1998 and was there until March of 2015. She started ther as a biller, billing for specialties including but not limited to, Radiology, Surgical, Radiation Oncology, Primary Care & Pain Management. She also handled all start up process for new clients, monitored daily and monthly revenue cycles. Providing reports & was the customer service liaison between the billing company and the clients. Stephenie is married and has twin girls.

Monica Manning, RMC

Assistant Billing Manager

Monica is married with two children. She has an Associates Degree in Office Administration. She worked for two years as a receptionist for a local internal medicine office. She began with MD Billing Services in the fall of 2003 and has experience billing for orthopedics, cardiology, and emergency room.

Jamie Gabbard

Practice Manager

Jamie is the Practice Manager for Kentucky Orthopedic Associates. She is originally from New Jersey and has resided in Kentucky since 2004. She has been in the healthcare field since 1998, beginning her career at the age of 20 in the Allergy and Asthma specialty. Since then she has gained billing and management experience is cardiology, chiropractic and orthopedics. She lives in Lexington with her husband and son.

Vic began working with our MD Billing as a computer networking consultant in 2014. We quickly saw how valuable he was to our company and hired him full time in 2015.

Billing Specialist

Chasity graduated from National College in 2009 with a diploma in Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Office Specialist. She began her career at Kentucky Orthopedic Associates as part of the front office staff in May 2009. She began doing billing for them in 2010 before transferring to MD Billing in September 2016. She is married with two children.

Tonia Chanslor, RMC

Tonia has worked in the medical field for 33 years. She has been a receptionist in various medical offices in Lexington and Winchester. She worked in a local physician’s office for eight years before coming to MD Billing in August 2003. Tonia is a billing clerk for a Pediatric/Internal Medicine group and an Ophthalmology Specialist. She resides in Winchester with her husband and she has two children.

Betsy has been with MD Billling since November 2013. Prior to that she worked for eighteen years at a gastroenterology office in Winchester. She has been working in the medical field since 1990. She has experience in all aspects of the medical office. She is lives in Lancaster with her husband Mike and their daughter Elizabeth Brett.

She started working in the medical field as a medical records clerk at Saint Joseph Hospital. She previously specialized in medical credentialing before coming to MD Billing. Charlene Ragland, RMC

Billing Specialist

Charlene has worked in the medical field for 19 years. Before coming to MD Billing Services she worked at Thomas ENT and Allergy Clinic in Winchester for 15 years, with the last 4 years as Practice Administrator. Prior to Thomas Clinic she worked at Delta Natural Gas for 20 years in the Inventory and Measurement Department. In 2009 she joined the MD Billing family working part time then went full time in 2014. Her medical experience has included ENT, allergy, OB/GYN, cardiology and family practice. Charlene is very involved at Southland Christian Church where she attends with her family. She is the leader of the Backpack Program and serves as Session Host every Sunday. Charlene enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with her family. Charlene resides in Winchester with her two daughters and two granddaughters.

Alicia obtained an Associate’s degree with a diploma in Medical Administrative Assisting from Bluegrass Community and Technically College in 2003. She started out in the medical field as a receptionist in primary care for two years before joining a local orthopedics practice in 2006 as front desk support and medical records clerk. It was there that she began her billing career in 2013 before transferring to MD Billing Services in September 2016. She is married with two children.

Cynthia Shimfessel, RMC

Billing Specialist

Cynthia joined the MD Billing staff in January of 2012 as a Medical Claims Specialist. She has worked in the following specialties: Family practice, Obstetrics, Bariatric, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Primary Care and Emergency Room; however her main focus is tracking payments on outstanding charges and denied claims. Past work experiences include 10 years with The United States Department of Agriculture as a program assistant, 5 years with GenApps-Tobacco Research Company, 5 years in a Medical Office working the front desk/receptionist, and Pioneer Federal Savings Bank. (Coincidentally her job at Pioneer Federal was in the same building that MD Billing is now located.) She resides in Winchester and has 3 children-Stetson, Colton and Caycee.

Stephanie Waller

Stephanie began her career with MD Billing as a Medical Biller in July 2014. She began her billing career in 2001 with Big Sandy Healthcare in Prestonsburg, KY. When she moved to Winchester in 2004 she began working for Associates for Women's Care in Lexington, KY where she started out as a receptionist, then was promoted as their Financial Counselor/Assistant Office Manager for over 8 years. She is knowledgeable and has background experience in all aspects of a practice from receptionist to the clinical staff. She also has her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. Stephanie's billing experience is with OB/GYN, primary care, cardiology and Hospice. Stephanie is married to Lee Waller and they have 3 boys, Bryson, Brayden and Jase. She and her family are members of Grace Baptist Church in Winchester.

Ann Wilkinson

Ann Wilkinson worked as a Licensed Social Worker in the medical field for 10 years prior to coming to MD Billing Services in 2014. Since that time she has worked part-time as billing support staff assisting with claims tracking. Ann resides in Lexington with her husband Monte where she enjoys spending time with their two young adult daughters and their families.

Natalie Woosley

Natalie began her career with MD Billing in May 2019. Prior to joining MD Billing, she was Office Manager and Insurance Biller for Dr. Mark Simon, Ophthalmologist, in Winchester for 15 years. She began her work within the medical field with Dr. Mark Pascuzzi in 1988. She currently specializes in Emergency Physicians' billing. Natalie has been married to her husband, Joe, for 32 years and together they have 3 daughters: Lauren Thomas (Brandon), Brooke and Brennan, and one grandson, Sawyer.

Tina Leslie, CPC, CPMA, CEDC, CEMC, CHTS-TR

Coding Manager

Tina joined the MD Billing team in 2014. Her experience includes, auditing, billing and coding, for inpatient, outpatient, and operative reports. Her favorite areas of coding and auditing are cardiology, orthopedics, and emergency room. Tina worked in post secondary education which led her to the field of Medical coding and billing. She became an instructor and department director for a local college in 2012 and most recently the president of the AAPC Lexington local chapter in 2016 and Vice-president in 2017. She continues to be an active member and travels as a speaker for continuing education and instructional opportunities. Her certifications include CPC, CPMA, CEDC, CEMC, CHTS-TR. When Tina isn’t working she can often be found playing in her garden or with her two grandsons.

Lindsey Norton

Lindsey graduated from the University of Kentucky. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Prior to joining the MD Consulting staff in February 2011, she worked in public accounting for three years. Lindsey lives in Winchester with her husband and daughter.

Since 2011, Shelby has spent summers working part time at MD Billing while attending Morehead State University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting in 2015. She then joined our staff at MD Consulting full time. She completed a Master’s of Business Administration from Morehead State in 2017.

Carolyn McCloud

Consulting Assistant

Carolyn started her employment at MD Consulting in 2013. She also was the administrative assistant at the First Church of God in Winchester for 22 years. After retiring from the church in 2015, she was able to spend even more hours working at MD Consulting. Carolyn is married to Jackie McCloud and they have 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

Alice Shearer

Alice began working at MD Billing in 2015 as a substitute courier. Soon after she began working for MD Consulting, assisting Lindsey with payroll reports. She is part-time but is a big help to the consulting office especially in January. She and Pat were great friends in high school, and Alice's daughter is married to Tim. Alice and her husband, Barry are huge Kentucky fans and love spending time with their two grandchildren.

Betty Clevenger

Courier

"Aunt Betty" has been our courier since the beginning of 2006. She has driven thousands of miles transferring information between medical offices and our office. She delivers to Winchester, Lexington, Paris, Versailles, and Mount Sterling. Without her things would not run so smoothly around MDBS. And yes, she is Pat's actual aunt. She has been married to Bud Clevenger, Sr. since 1959 and they are the parents of Bud Clevenger, the Vice President of MD Billing.

Pat Kiser has been running the southeast courier route for MD Billing since 2009. She is a retired librarian from the Estill County public school system. She has three sons, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Jackie McCloud, RMC

Courier / Scanning Specialist

Jackie joined the MD Billing team in July 2010. Prior to that he worked 27 years managing apartment complexes in Winchester and also served as the athletic director and girl’s fast pitch softball head coach at George Rogers Clark High School here in Clark County. Jackie runs multiple courier routes for MD Billing and our clients. He also administrates all document scanning for every biller at MD Billing.
